In many cases the equipment that is utilized by the paramedic staff are obsolete having been acquired long time ago. There is also a great deficit in equipment and materials in emergence events that involve large numbers of people and more life risks. The government through its organs such as the law enforcers, the military and other organization such as Red Cross should help the emergency health providers in all situations no matter the severity. These groups should also participate in the EMT training for their staff and the society at large.
Another problem experienced by the paramedic staff in the course of their work is the payout. Despite the high costs of paramedic training, the high risk nature of their job and sometimes the long hours worked, the emergency health providers are some of the most under paid staff in the economy. The argument that this group of people does not work full time is invalid in justifying their poor pay. In times of emergence these people work for days without overtime or allowances, and if the decisions makers want to insist on this point then they should have a strategy of how EMT paramedic workers can be permanently be absolved in the other areas of health care.
